I’m a single woman owned business with the help of my pup, Opal. Your support means the world to us 💙

My goal for Bandits is to provide other healing humans with emotional support. Allowing myself to become more child-like in my world helped me through a lot. I want others to experience having their own unique plush that can provide comfort and care when you feel alone or dealing with high stressful situations.

The glass weighted beads and the floppy, fun movements that I try to create with my plush art is to try to mimic real cats or beasts.

My favorite animal to create are tigers, but I love working on a design that blends animals or creates a fantastical beast of their own!

My love for animals and plushies gets to come together with Bandit Beanies.

I started Bandits because I couldn’t find a plush that looked like my sweet dog. So in 2022 I started Bandits and created my pup, Blueberry out of just cotton fabric at the time. He sadly passed Sept 30, 2026 💙

I have ADHD and working my way through dealing with other personal health issues. Being able to navigate this time in my life and having art fuel my everyday life makes the pain all worth it.

Hand and machine sewing plushies takes up my everyday and is my full time job!

I’m so grateful to get up and design, plan and craft my plush Bandits, but it takes over a week to finish most of my pieces.

Each Bandit is completely unique and I don’t repeat my designs.

Each Bandit has multiple textures of fabrics as well as wool felt for the eyes and paw prints.

Price depends on size, how much detail (stripes, wings, etc) and how heavy it is! Each Bandit has a description and weight on the listing in the shop.

I use a variety of expensive fabrics that range from $17 - $40 a yard. All my fabrics have to be shipped.

Materials that go into your Bandit are about $400-$600: Multiple new Shannon and EZ fabrics, silky polyfill stuffing, micro glass beads, 100% cotton, thread, wool felt and oval safety eyes. Eyes are secure and do not fray.

This doesn’t include tools that break and need replacing like sewing needles, thimbles, machine needles, scissors, combs and my sewing machine itself.

My hourly rate is $22/ hour. In Seattle, Washington the minimum wage is $21.

(Why another dollar? Because I’m the manager, crafter, order fulfiller, photographer, clean up crew and social media manager.)

Average number of hours completing a Bandit:

50-60 hours of designing and planning what colors/materials I need, cutting fabric, cutting paws, machine and hand sewing, setting and trimming the eyes and brushing out all seams and details at $22/hour is $1100-$1320)

Cost of materials + cost of my hourly work = price of Bandit

My office hours are from 7am to 3pm PST. Monday and Tuesday are my “weekend” days. During shop drop week I definitely don’t take any time off.

But everything has gone up in price this year from materials to my Squarespace website subscription. I understand my prices are high, but my art is 100% made with love and care. There’s also so many hours that go into photos, posting on Instagram and replying to countless messages. (And vacuum and lint rolling)

If you’ve never owned your own business, it’s hard to know how much work goes on behinds the scenes or the stress of tax season. But I love my job and I price my work fairly for how much time goes into it. I try to be as green as possible and not overbuy fabrics I don’t need or contribute much waste when cutting. I save all my scraps for any potential detail and don’t have much that I throw away. My sewing machine also runs on full solar power (when Seattle isn’t too cloudy!)
